“From Discouraged to Determined: My Journey Toward Health and Hope” (Part 1) In the fall of 2016, my husband and I decided it was time to make some changes. We committed to walking together every night after work. We were already trying to eat healthy, but we took it a step further—being more intentional and conscious about the choices we were making. At the time, we were living near Jefferson, Texas. The slower pace and quiet setting gave us space to focus on our health, or at least try to. But let me back up a little. In November 2014, we went full-time RVing. For the first year or so, we were stationary, which turned out to be a gift. We were parked next to some of our closest friends, and those days are ones I’ll always treasure. Not everyone gets to pick their neighbors, but in that season, we did—and I’m thankful for the memories we made. Living in an RV gave us the freedom to travel. A little bit of my story…

  Hey friend! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Lisa—and I’m guiding you through our  11 Days of Connection To Be Summer Ready starting May 19th! If you haven’t had a chance to join, there’s still time!   Before we begin, I’d love to share a little bit of my story and how this all began. I’m a mom of four—with one proudly serving in the Army, another about to graduate high school, one set to graduate next year, and my youngest still in middle school. We homeschool, and life is beautifully full and busy. I’ve been married to my husband for 22 years, and in the whirlwind of raising a family, I’m so thankful I made a shift when I did—because it prepared me for all the changes that came my way. Seven and a half years ago, I didn’t feel like me.   I was exhausted. My energy was low. My blood pressure was high. I felt rundown, overwhelmed, and disconnected from who I used to be.
