Feeding your body the right type of food will leave your body in an anabolic state before bed as well as help your muscles recover from heavy workouts and training.  Here are 5 high protein snacks that you can eat just before you jump into bed and will actually help you achieve your desired weight without leaving you hungry.

1.Greek Non-Fat Yogurt

Greek non-fat yogurt is a perfect before bed snack. Choose the plain Greek yogurt as it contains no sugars and a lot of protein.  It is also easy to digest and contains no or very little carbohydrates. Add a little bit of honey and nuts for a better flavor and natural sugar.

Peanut Butter with Green Apple

Everybody loves peanut butter.  It is high in protein and healthy fats and it goes great with almost anything.  For a healthy combination add slices of green apple and sunflower seeds.

Whey Protein Shake

Whey Protein is great before bed because it will feed your muscles with the protein that your body needs and will boost recovery while you sleep and prolong your anabolic state.  You can add frozen bananas, ice and raw cacao which is a great source of antioxidants.

Nuts with dried fruit

Almonds, cashews, and hazelnuts are all great for adding a healthy dose of protein and a good amount of healthy fats.  Add dried bananas or apricots which contain many vitamins and minerals such as potassium and pectin to regulate digestive juices.

Smoked Turkey Slices

Smoked Turkey slices are one of the best protein snacks before bed. Per 100 grams, turkey breast contains nearly 30 grams of protein addition to iron, zinc, and potassium. Turkey meat also contains the amino acid called tryptophan that helps the regulation of serotonin, an important neurotransmitter that is responsible for your digestion and your mood.
