A tired mom...

Approaching my 2yr anniversary with my lifestyle change.  I can hardly believe it’s been that long.

I remember how I felt on the inside, tired, no energy and just had given up.
For those who don’t know, I was 181lbs and being 5’1 that’s a lot.  It was a cardio workout just putting my shoes on.  Having kids and not being able to go when they wanted to was hard.  I needed a nap 😂

Now I ran my first marathon this year.  Placed 9th out of 15 in my age bracket.  That was huge since I said I’d never do any of those races.  I can play tag with my kids.  One of the things I love doing is biking from downtown home and that means the grand hotel hill.  I get all kinds of encouragement as I’m going up it and it empowers me to keep going even when I want to give up.

I’m pretty persistent and don’t give up easy.  I have goals that I’m achieving and so many more to inspire.

You can be anything you want to be and you can go anywhere you want to go.  Get laser focused and go for it.  Don’t let anything stop you!

Ive been maintaining almost 19 months.  Will I have to do this forever?  I dont have to but I love how my gut feels and having the nutrients that my body has lacked for so long.

And if you need an accountability partner, I’m here for ya!  Together we can conquer your goals!

Don’t...

Don’t be held captive by your thoughts... #motivationalmonday This hit me like a brick.  For so long I let myself be a prisoner by my thoughts, how I felt when I looked in the mirror, insecurities, lack of self confidence and now I feel like a whole new person!  I’m thankful that Jesus helped me through some of my darkest storms. Even when I feel alone, I know He is right beside me. Not to mention the amazing family I’ve been gifted.  I’m truly blessed.   Life is important. 👉 YOU 👈 are important.   Hope you have an awesome day and Happy New Year!

How important is breakfast...

Eight Reasons to Start Your Day With a Protein-Dense Shake.....  Your mom always told you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Of course, mom’s always right. But does the science back her recommendation up? From an array of studies, scientists have demonstrated the efficacy of breakfast for a variety of health benefits. The number of these benefits also increase if that early morning meal is higher in protein, particularly in the form of a protein-dense shake. Here is a running list that should give you more reasons to start every day with a nutritious, high-protein meal. Or, better yet, a protein-dense meal-replacement shake: 1. Improved Concentration and Memory From large observational trials, mainly targeted toward children, breakfast is shown to be strongly associated with improved concentration and memory (1) Scientists suggest that this is due to breakfast’s immediate impact on blood sugar to fuel young brains (2,3).
