Creamy Milk Gravy Chicken (20 minutes)
Creamy Milk Gravy Chicken (20 minutes)
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless chicken (breasts or thighs), sliced or pounded thin
- Salt & pepper
- Garlic powder or minced garlic
- 2 tbsp butter (or oil + butter)
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1½–2 cups milk (whole is creamiest, but any works)
- Optional: onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Season chicken generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Sear chicken in a large skillet over medium-high heat with butter until golden and cooked through (about 4–5 min per side). Remove to a plate.
- In the same pan, lower heat to medium. Melt 2 tbsp butter, whisk in flour, and cook 30–60 seconds (don’t let it brown).
- Slowly whisk in milk, scraping up the browned bits. Keep stirring until smooth and thick (2–3 minutes).
- Season gravy with salt, pepper, and any extras you like.
- Return chicken to the pan, simmer 3–5 minutes until everything is cozy and coated.
Quick Add-Ons (optional but 🔥)
- Mushrooms or onions sautéed before the flour
- Splash of chicken broth for depth
- A little parmesan or cream cheese for extra richness
- Fresh parsley or thyme at the end
